My real life

Life is on the highest degree of okay right now. Not totally sky high perfect, thanks to the bank and their scheme to steal our money and the truck having no breaks, but we will survive! *sings I will survive* My FAFSA form was received and is in process. I am getting into a routine here, which helps me to feel better and get so much more done around here. I am working on planning our next vacation. I have a few options to decide from, and I want it to be a surprise for Hubby. I am thinking about changing my piano lessons. I love playing and I love my teacher, but I hate that it takes me longer to drive (one way!) then for a lesson. Hopefully we have the internet fixed. They ran a new cat5 today, from outside directly in to the modem. I heard a few days ago that the Davis Family vacation next year will be in Navoo. I am way excited about this and I will start doing research on it soon. I reached over 1000 visits on my blog today. I was so excited lol
I have been working on getting the Spirit back. I've noticed that I haven't felt it for a few weeks, except on Sundays and at the temple. This is not acceptable to me. So I have been doing a daily scripture study and prayer, and doing my best to be loving and charitable. I have noticed a positive difference already. If I can keep the Lord in mind in all my doings I know I will be much happier in all I do. AND my life will be easier, more satisfying, and more enjoyable. Total bonus all the way around!
The kittens are doing much better. They have been on meds for a few days and the worst is over. We had a few scary moments though. (In no particular order) Scary moment one: One of the twins (the female that we call China) was bleeding from her eye. The vet showed me how to wet and wipe their eyes, so the infection could continue to drain. Well none of them like this- not that I blame them one little bit- and while fighting me it started to bleed. I choose NOT to put the medicine on the open wound, so I put her down and let her go. She rubbed her eyes, and in an instant she broke open the scab that had formed. Not a small amount of blood started flowing. Since her face was now "wet" she did what all cats do, they shake their head very quickly. Bad idea. Now she is bleeding more, and there is blood flying from her little face. You can imagine my horror watching this happen all in less than five seconds time. Anyway, so I grab her and wrap her body in a towel to keep her still so the wound can clot again. Hand her off to Hubby to hold so I can make sure there isn't any blood on the carpet ect. She finally calms down, and the clot forms. We took her out of the towel, and Hubby cuddled her for a few more minutes. *Fast forward to today* Her eye is much better now. The wound has healed, and the infection is almost completely gone.
Second scary moment: Danger was dehydrated. We took them to the Pioneer Day festival with us, so they could have some outside time and people time. (Vet said they were ready to go to their own homes, but they need social skills first. We only took four of the kittens and left Bella home. She wasn't doing as well, and I didn't think she could handle it yet. We didn't take Sweetie either.) We took a syringe to keep them hydrated and kitten food to keep them happy. They all did very well for the first hour. The second hour, I took them behind a building/shed/ whatever you want to call it, away from the people, in the shade, and where a breeze was blowing. I let them all out of the huge box they were in and let them play around on the grass in the cooler air. Even though they didn't like it, I made sure to give them water via the syringe every hour or so. When our party brought out the food, I packed them back to where everyone was and got me some food. Danger wasn't as playful as the rest, he just laid around. I kept giving him water and picking him up to keep him moving. The girls (Katerina, Vannah, Tamara, and Makialah) took the kittens into the AC bathroom to let them cool off again. Danger still just laid around. (Scary moment in a scary moment: In the bathroom, China's arm came out of the socket. I was in there with them, so I very gently moved it back where it should have been. I guess it wasn't painful for her at all, because she just jumped up and started chasing the others around like nothing had happened.) We left a little while later and finally got home. The rest seemed fine, but Danger still wasn't doing too good. So I continued giving him water with the syringe and stuck the stinky wet cat food right in front of him. He ate, and the next day was fine again.
Third scary moment: Bella being so sick. She seems to have this infection so much worse than all the rest. She is weazy, her eyes are so swollen, and she's just struggling to breathe. I know that humans get worse before they get better, so I expected that when the kittens were put on medicine. But Bella seemed to just stay bad. Her eyes got more swollen, she slept even more. Well the night before last I actually took her to bed with me. She was struggling so hard to breath but her nose was just so stuffy. I gave her another dose of the medicine and settled down with her. I laid on my side, and put her on a towel in front of me. That way she right next to me and I could hear if she stopped breathing. It was a long and rough night, but she actually made it through. *Fast forward to today* She is doing better. She is still stuffy, and obviously sick. But the swelling in her eyes has gone down, and she is more active. I can see now that she is improving, and I am so glad for that.
I tried to put a video of the kittens playing on YouTube, but it didn't work. I need to go fix supper right now, but I will see what I can figure out when I get back. They are adorable and I want to share them :)

Update: I got the video to work. Here's a video of China playing with Sweetie's tail. See how excited Sweetie is?

The Youtube video is beyond adorable. It is freaking adorable! Is there a difference? Well, to me there is. :) Kittens are so cute except for when they don't make it to the litter box like a big boy AKA my Jackie Poo back home. :( Oh I miss his attitude. He has PMS for boy cat bad! Love ya Marie. You are one of my best friends and I am about to go write my first blog on Blogger.
