I must admit, I did not expect the results of the Iowa caucus. But, I am pleased. I don't have any bad feelings about either Obama or Huckabee. At this point, I would be glad to have either one as my president. I wasn't expecting Clinton or Giuliani to have such low numbers, though.

I liked Obama's victory speech. I loved the line "We came together as Democrats, as Republicans and independents, to stand up and say we are one nation, we are one people and our time for change has come." I think it was powerful, uniting, and encouraging.
I joined two political groups today. One is to keep me updated on numbers. The other is a discussion group, where I can discuss and debate. IMO, the best way to learn is to get in and get busy. So I am getting informed and getting involved.
Things are just going to keep getting better.

Have you read Obama's "The Audacity of Hope"? I just finished it. This is the fourth presidential candidate for which I've read their book, and the first time that I finished the book inspired, uplifted, hopeful, and ready to give my endorsement for the candidate. "The Audacity of Hope" turned me into a full-fledged Obama fan. I'm very glad that he took Iowa.
While I don't support many (actually almost all) of his policies, I do think that Obama ran a brilliant campaign in Iowa and his victory speech was very inspiring. I also appreciate his positive tone and unity theme.
Mike Huckabee also gave a very good speech and ran an excellent campaign and showed that he can win without much money (which will change now).
Having an Obama vs. Huckabee race would be very interesting.
Elise- I haven't read the book. But after your review, I am interested. I'll have to see if I can acquire a copy.
Shane- I agree, I think it will be interesting to see what happens now.
