Hello New Beginning

It is 1:30 in the morning. And I am online because I took a three hour nap today. I took a three hour nap today because I am still recovering from jet lag. So I have made myself productive. (Come on, how many people are really that productive at one thirty in the morning?) I have posted pics of the trip online, and now I will tell a little bit about the trip out here.

(Begin show and tell)

We spent the last day (Tuesday) packing and preparing for our move. I don't know who was more excited, me or Selo. We got to the airport around seven and took our time getting our bags together to go check in. Selo pushed the cart on the moving sidewalk and Susan and I walked alongside. Selo was so excited to go. This is his first plane ride. And this is his first opportunity to make a life for himself the way he wants it. I was (and am!) so glad to be the one to share this with him. We said goodbye to Susan, had a kiss for good luck, and went to find our terminal. Selo wanted to buy something from the airport, so he bought a pack of gum from one of the airport shops. Our first flight was from SLC to Vegas, so it was on a small plane. Selo got the window seat so he could watch outside as we took off. We landed in Vegas and Selo carried Piper as we found our connecting flight. Piper was very content with Selo and I right there. While waiting in Vegas Selo checked out the Vegas slot machines. You can't go to Vegas without looking at the slot machines! We met some new friends while waiting. Joshua and Jacob entertained us with their airplanes and stories about their cat back home, while our other friend shared his (delicious) homemade walnut fudge. (Thank you!) We boarded our next flight and settled in for the long one. This would take us from Vegas to Charlotte, about four and a half hours. We got to Charlotte about six thirty in the morning (Wed morning). We took three different moving sidewalks to our next connection, so Selo took the opportunity to rest a bit. This layover was going to be a longer one. Piper was wide awake and looked around intently. Selo decided to get some work done while we waited. He wasn't gonna waste any time starting his new life. A few hours later, we were still waiting. The plane was delayed, then they decided to ground it for mechanical problems. But never fear, the next plane is here! We boarded the last plane. We are almost to our final destination. When we touched ground, we were in Raleigh, North Carolina. Hooray! Now we just need to find the truck and find our way home. Thanks to Mitchel leaving us good directions, we found the truck right away. We loaded our bags and piled in. Selo looked like such a stud driving that truck. And of course, Piper did her part to help her "daddy" drive. It was so nice to finally reach home. Once we got the truck unloaded and could finally rest, we both did the happy dance on the front porch. It is so nice to be home, and even better to have Selo with me.

(End show and tell. That was pretty fun, maybe I should make my own website.)

We have already seen a few places for Selo to live, and he has fallen in love with this little house. It's a cute little old two bedroom house with a new kitchen, hardwood floors, a garage, a great yard, and a perfect front porch. If things go well, he will be moved in very shortly. Unless we find something he likes better, because that was only the second house we looked at, and we are going back out again tomorrow. The price of living out here is so nice. The house he likes here is less per month than the apt he and a friend were sharing in Utah. I love the small town feel of this place. Driving around I get lost more often than not. But in getting lost I learn so much about this place. This is where I want to spend my life. Here, I want to have a career, get married, raise my children, and grow old with my husband. I can see my life unfolding the way that I have dreamed of for so long. And I am blessed. I thank God for giving me this opportunity. I thank God for connecting all the right pieces to get me here. I thank God for allowing me to fulfill my purpose in life, while living here.
