I have recently gotten into the world of blogging. So far, I am enjoying it. There are few quirks here and there, but nothing I can't adjust to. One thing I enjoy, is reading other blogs, and sharing my feelings about them. I have always tried to let the original blogger know, and to cite all the necessary information to give proper credit. Lucky for me, I found an article outlining eight rules for linking to someone else's work. They are straight forward and simple.
Here are the rules:
Here are the rules:
- Link to the original source
- Cite name of author
- Cite location of source
- Use quotation marks/delineate what is copied and what is your own original
- Don’t cut and paste entire works (unless the work is copy-left)
- Add your own commentary
- Respect another blogger’s traffic
- Use courtesy and be fair
I am glad to have a standard to follow. I appreciate a well written article, and I believe in giving credit where credit is due. So thank you to Elaine from 2kBloggers for these rules. I encourage any bloggers out there to read THIS well written article, for more detailed information. Thanks Elaine!
