Locks of Love sent me a thank you card

How sweet is that?! I've been posting a lot lately about Locks of Love, since I was planning to and did donate me hair to them. Well, I got a thank you card from them! What a great company, that they take the time to thank the people that send in donations. It's a personalized card with my name on it, and it's laminated so I can keep it. I scanned it so I could post pics. (Although I did edit my name and address, so that only my first name shows.)

If you click on the images, they will enlarge. Isn't that a neat picture they have of the lady and the little girl? It's a cool way to show how my donated hair goes to helping a little girl.

Locks of Love, Wii Fit, and a perfect date

Today is the day! I cut my hair so I could donate it to Locks of Love. I had 13 inches cut off. It was a great feeling to have it cut. Not only was I doing it for a great purpose, but I was so ready to have it short again. I had been growing my hair since I had graduated college- almost 5 years. And for the last two or three years, I had been planning to donate it. Originally I wanted it long enough to sit on before I cut it, but I never would have made it that far lol. But it was fantastic anyway. After it was cute, I had the shadow box died dark purple. Love it, BTW. The color didn't turn out as dark as I'd planned (it's more purple than brown), but it's cute anyway. AND Selo decided to get his hair done, too. My husband is a blond! Not just a dark blond either, white blond. He had his hair bleached. Wowza!

After we left the salon, we decided to celebrate. We ended up finally finding a Wii Fit, and he bought it for me! I had been wanting one for over a year, and he'd been looking since my birthday in October. I was so excited! Then we headed out for a date night. We went to see Bride Wars. OMGosh it's funny. Anne and Kate did a fabulous job. Then, yes it keeps getting better, we went to The Cheesecake Factory. Yummy! They had this incredible 30 years celebration cheesecake. It was like heaven on a plate. Never tasted anything so delicious.

By that time, we were ready to go home. We had a great hair day, and successful shopping trip, and a totally fun date night. I tell you, it was a perfect day.

Two appointments and birthday planning

Quick post, because I am short on time. I have two appointments coming up that are going to be pretty exciting.

This Saturday, I'm cutting my hair. Remember the post about Loving my Locks? Yes, the moment has come. I looked up the info I need on Locks of Love's website, I'm browsing cute hairstyles, I have the appointment made, and the camera ready. Selo and I will be going Saturday morning. I am so excited. So excited. Some cute little kid is going to get my hair. What a fantastic feeling that is!

The other appointment is for Selo and I to see my PCP about having my IUD removed. You know what that means- we are in the Family Planning mode. Or maybe I should say mood. *wink* That appointment isn't until we get back from our big vacation to Vegas this month, but I wanted to set it early to make sure we had plenty of time to get work off and do any research we needed. Oh don't worry, it won't all be facts and charting. We plan on having a good time DTD. lol


We're also having a big birthday for Selo this year. I've always tried to make sure his birthday is very special, because he says no one has before. So I plan parties and trips and stuff. I've done a surprise party, I've done a trip to St George. This year, we're doing a big dinner on the evening of his birthday at one of his favorite restaurants, and tons of his family and friends are coming. Plus, I'm going to have a big surprise for him for his birthday, too. It's going to be a blast.

We've got some great things planned!

Loving My Locks

For now anyway. I'm still planning to donate my hair once I get another inch or two. But I wanted to show it off. I wish there was a way to see who's going to get it. I hope they like it.

I had a dream the other night that I had cut it already. The haircut I had was SO cute. I'm going to miss having it so long, because it really is so pretty, but I hate having my hair this long. I feel it's a waste of beautiful hair to keep it pulled back all the time. (And yes, I hate it when I see women with long hair that never leave it down!)

After years of growing it out to donate it, it's almost time to cut it off! Just a few more weeks!
